Sofa Vault Outlet ("we", "us"), Tower Mill, 145 Park Rd, Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, SK16 5NA, is the data controller for sofavaultoutlet.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. Contact us at sofavaultoutlet@outlook.com or +44 7722 015665 with any questions or requests.
What we collect
We collect data in three ways:
- Order & enquiry details you give us directly — name, delivery address, phone number, email address and payment details (processed by Stripe, we never see or store your full card number) when you buy a sofa, and anything you send us by phone, WhatsApp or email.
- Site usage data collected automatically — pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type, and interactions such as adding to cart or clicking a WhatsApp button, via cookies and similar technology (see below).
- Delivery-quote data— a postcode you enter to see a delivery estimate is sent to postcodes.io (a public UK postcode lookup service) to calculate distance; we don't store this unless it's part of a completed order.
Cookies & tracking technology
We use the following cookies/technologies:
- A first-party visitor cookie (
sv_vid) — set by our own server, lasts up to a year, and lets us recognise a returning visitor and match an eventual order back to the ad or page that brought them to the site. - Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and Conversions API — measures the effectiveness of our Facebook/Instagram advertising and lets us show relevant ads to past visitors. Meta may set its own
_fbc/_fbpcookies for this purpose. - Google Analytics — helps us understand how visitors find and use the site (e.g. via search engines), so we can improve it.
You can block or delete cookies at any time via your browser settings; doing so may affect how parts of the site work (for example, remembering your cart).
How we use your data
- To process and deliver your order, and to contact you about it.
- To respond to enquiries made by phone, WhatsApp or email.
- To detect and prevent fraud, and to enforce our terms.
- To understand and improve the site and our advertising, including remarketing to past visitors and measuring ad performance via Meta.
Our lawful bases are: performance of a contract (processing your order), our legitimate interests (site analytics, fraud prevention, direct marketing to existing customers), and consent where required for non-essential tracking.
Who we share it with
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — advertising and ad performance measurement.
- Supabase — our database and file-storage provider, hosting order and account records securely.
- Delivery couriers — your name, address and phone number, solely to deliver your order.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as needed for accounting and legal purposes. Anonymous/aggregated site-usage events are retained for up to 30 days; visitor-identity records are retained for up to 180 days and then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to our use of your personal data, and to ask us to restrict processing or provide your data in a portable format. Contact us using the details above to exercise any of these rights, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
